| Þorgeirr gets to the end of turning the outside of a bowl on a spring pole lathe. Power is applied through the leather thong wound around the mandrel attached to the piece. The wood is Manitoba maple, which has some interesting colours and cuts easily when green but does not finish well and can/will check badly as it dries. Previous
