Who's Who?

Althing Sep 2009

Several mandrel's full of beads cool by the furnace prior to having their beads removed. Hróbjartr and Aislinne feel that this this 'precooling' reduces the breakage when removing them from the mandrels. Once removed they are placed in the annealing pots for a long soak at temperature. Note that the mandrels on the left have two small beads on them. We learned early that smaller beads can be done with more than one on a mandrel increasing the production rate.
