IndigoDye bath #2a (January 2005)

Grey Icelandic lamb's fleece in the exhaust bath turned out a light turquoise blue.

Simmered for 4 hours, and then I turned off the heat and let it sit for another 3 hours. Usually I let my dye baths sit overnight but I wanted to clean up the kitchen.

Grey Lamb's fleece, rinsed a few times over, because it was completely unwashed prior to dyeing. (Note from the future: Of course, I knew nothing about correctly washing fleece at the time and used no detergent of any sort to break down the natural greases in the fleece.)

Iron ingots in the pot for mordant.
