| The cobb overlay on the cement. The prepared base consists of fire brick base covered with an insulating layer, a mix of refractory cement / crushed low density fire brick and vermiculite. A retangular form of wood blocks and bricks wrapped in paper (to ease later removal) will create a tapping arch two firebricks in size.
