Iron Smelting Experiment - 2004

Mike makes a carefull check down the smelter interior. When the softwood heat with no air was done we switched to hardwood and added some forced air. Now that one complete crate of hardwood has been consumed with air blast, less heat is being drawn off by the smelter walls. This can be seen in the increased height of the flame at the top of the smelter.
