Iron Smelting Experiment - June 2006

« large pic »
I try hard to get pictures down the tuyure from time to time. Its getting better (but its still pretty bad). For the record shooting down a 2-3 foot pipe into an almost monocromatic environment is tricky. These pics were done with a ND 0.6 filter and shooting F16 at around 1/1000 s [not the 1/125 the camera was suggesting]. Next time the plan is to pre-focus using a target, increase the filter by at least two more stops, and keep shooting at 1/1000. We shall see. In this shot you can mostly make out pieces of charcoal, but they are out of focus.
