First visible sign of a problem. By this point we knew that the smelter was running slow, while the thermocouples were reading hot. Then we started noticing hot spots on the walls like the one just to the left of probe "One" (Third from the top). This suggested that the smelt was burning hot but close to the front wall. That would mean we weren't getting good air penetration.
